    Over thirty years ago, while working as a civil design technician for a local engineering firm, our design team was working on construction documents for what is now the Dallas/Ft Worth International Airport. A few members of the design team began working on the construction plans for the airport’s irrigation system. While my responsibility was primarily the preparing paving, drainage, and utility plans for the airport project, I was intrigued by the irrigation design work going on. I did a little research and thought the design process for irrigation was similar to water utility design that I had been doing for several years. When I discovered that Texas had a state-licensing program for irrigation designers and contractors, I thought I would give it a try. Shortly after receiving my state Irrigators license I read an article about the Irrigation Association’s Certification Program and added Golf Course Irrigation Design Certification to my wish list and haven’t looked back since.

    I have been an advocate for WATER CONSERVATION in the landscape irrigation for well over two decades. As a irrigation design professional, I strive to increase awareness for my clients that the purpose of an irrigation system is to provide supplemental water when rainfall is NOT sufficient to maintain the turf and landscape for its intended purposes. I am always on the look out for new and innovative design techniques to ensure that my clients are receiving an efficient, environmentally friendly and sustainable irrigation system design. Attaining my certification as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional, signing on as a WaterSense partner and obtaining IA certifications for Golf Course and Landscape Irrigation Auditing emphasizes my commitment to water conservation in the landscape. Whether on a half acre residential lot or a 100-acre golf course irrigation system design water conservation has and will continue to be the primary focus of my irrigation design and consultant services.

    Member of the City of Fort Worth Water Conservation Advisory Committee-2007 to present, City of Dallas Third Party Green Provider-2009 to 2015.

    Leonard Technical Services, Inc. (dba, LTS Design Group and LTS Support Group), was incorporated in 1983. The DBE firm has offices located in Ft. Worth and Dallas, Texas offering Civil, Landscape and Irrigation Design services. Our LTS Support Group offers Multidisciplinary CAD Drafting and Technical Support services in AutoCad 2010 thru 2014, MicrostationV8, and VectorWorks 2013 thru 2017. LTS has provided this array of services on the local, State and Federal level for agencies such as, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), GSA, and Fort Worth Transit Authority, the Southwest Regional Headquarters Division of the Federal Aviation Administration, City of Fort Worth, City of Dallas, City of Grand Prairie, City of Wichita Falls, and the City of Carrollton, Texas. LTS is a Certified DBE firm on the local, state, and federal levels.

    Our design team combines hands-on experience with state-of the-art computer equipment and computer-aided design & drafting software such as Rain CAD, Eagle Point, VectorWorks, and Bentley Inroads and GEOPAK, to ensure that we provide you with INNOVATIVE DESIGNS and COST-EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS. AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit CAD services will be offered soon. We have the design expertise and resources available to assist you on your next project from concept to final walk-through.

    In-House capability of up to 10 CADD Stations, HP 1050 C and T-920 Color Plotters, AutoCAD Release 2014, and MicroStation V8, GEOPAK civil design software, and Eagle Point civil design software. Eagle Point (LANDCADD) 2009 and VectorWorks* 2013 thru 2017software are used for landscape and irrigation design projects. Haestad’s WaterCad software is used to model and analyze piping networks for large irrigation systems. * Compatible with The Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) model format for Building Information Modeling (BIM)
