Winner of the Roy William Memorial Award for 2026

ASIC is proud to recognize Eudell Vis as the 2026 recipient of the Roy Williams Memorial Award for his outstanding contributions to the irrigation industry.

Eudell Vis, Professor Emeritus at Cal Poly, Pomona, began his academic career in 1980 in the Plant Science Department, focusing on landscape irrigation water management. Over decades of teaching, he educated and mentored hundreds of students, many of whom have gone on to become leaders in the irrigation profession. His influence continues to be felt through the success of those he inspired.

Chosen from a highly competitive pool of nominees, Eudell’s impact is both broad and deeply personal. He has been an active participant in ASIC events, including National Conferences and Southern California Chapter activities, and has contributed his expertise as a judge for the ASIC Excellence in Irrigation Awards.

In addition to his teaching, Eudell conducted meaningful research and authored several scholarly articles that advanced understanding of irrigation and water management practices. His work has helped elevate the importance of efficient, science-based irrigation within the industry.

Eudell Vis is widely admired for his kindness, professionalism, and dedication. His legacy is reflected not only in his research and service, but in the many professionals whose careers were shaped by his guidance and passion for the field.
